Jenny got stung by a bee and said, "I wouldn't have got stung if I'd stayed in bed."
George got stung and we heard him roar, "What am I being punished for?"
Joseph got stung and we heard him say, "I learned something about bees today."
Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have - life itself.
The Bible tells us over and over that nothing happens arbitrarily; even the most disastrous events are not out of God's control (Isaiah 45:7).
